We call ourselves the doers and we are much more than the names in the brackets. We are architects, artists, economists, mothers, dealers, scrapers and weirdos and we are interested in everyday narratives and science fiction forms.

We are what Fanon describes as the outlaws.

Individuals against individual authorship, who are actively involved in NGOs, institutions, academies and an underground network of people that do stuff, illegally.

Individualization is a systemic construction although even in the branded collectives individuals can easily be deleted, specifically women, and all the Blacks. Been there...

Last year we used brackets to include all the people involved in each project. Practicing an ethos of choice against name branding.

We create altogether conditions for the things to happen. Everyone is credited including the ones who made us smile, taking care of our emotional well-being and our nutritional needs.

We want to sabotage institutional hierarchies and their financial reflection.

We want to build an economic system reflecting the social infrastructure of commoning, and then to spread the news.

As Stefano Harney and Fred Moten said “That's one place where the struggle is, to remain within and against [the system], but really against, to be complicit in the most corrupt way possible.” But we will never forget Oraiopoulos words "None of us is innocent".

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder, 2021

A live streamed installation. Composed by a sculpture that incorporates ultraviolet germicidal lamps, a room disinfection fog machine and a real time video projection.

When sanitizers are fully operating the absence of all living things is demanded. For the purification and disinfection of the physical space, all humans, animals and plants have to be gone.

The projection is streaming live from an online multiplayer environment which is designed to host our avatars and their actions while exploring the possibilities of web-site-specificity . By using the online game engine we are going to create a digital cosmos and will invite our friends to join in. We will design their own avatars and meet in our cosmos for wandering around, singing, reading and whatever else comes in it.

The work will be simultaneously a film, a physical installation and an online experience owing to the COVID-19 restrictions.

HCMAN: The Trap, 2021

[Aggelos Akritidis, Vasilis Barbinis, Kostis Damoulakis, Domna Degaita, Paulo Doda, Alexandros Economou, Panagiotis Lianos, Ilias Mokas, Vasilis Zacharakopoulos, Pegy Zali]

We collected texts during the three months of systemic restrictive rules that aimed to limit the spread of the virus. The texts outline the characteristics of the dominant discourse on gender, work, nature, technology, body, health, etc. and suggest ways of resistance that emerge from the logic of emotions and the poetry of exclusion.

These texts were used to train a text production algorithm based on Machine Learning technology and recent developments in Natural Language Processing, to produce a new one. This new, commonly edited text makes the lyrics of the rap / trap music piece, HCMAN: The Trap. The song wants to break the rational structures of dominant discourse that create and maintain divisions between "high" and "commonplace" cultural structures.

Peeingwhilestanding E.T, 2020

[Kostis Damoulakis, Panagiotis Lianos, Jakob Traxlmayr, Pegy Zali, Adrien Angelopoulos, Dimitris Grigoropoulos and Vasilis Zacharakopoulos]

A bunch of part-time constructors, ex-bodybuilder champions, teachers, graffiti writers, painters, tattooers and architects, reside in a constant state of togetherness with the Other. Guys, who met on the Athenian streets and live in the queer landscape, in the cracks of legality and in a collective condition of unsettled and abnormal actions.

We shaped an environment, consisting of a writer’s bench, a sculpture, a mural, a rap track driven by A.I. generated lyrics and a 3d holographic rapper. These elements are collaboratively shaped by the ethics of underground cultures, habits and practices. The writer’s bench is constructed by scrap woods collected from Kypseli neighborhood, while the sculpture serves as a display for tools of their collective habits, habits that accompanied the creation of the mural during the last month. For the rap song, Nektarios Lianos, based on the latest academic developments in Machine Learning and Natural Language Understanding, trained a machine learning model to generate lyrics by providing it with female rappers songs suggested by Kostas Tereres. Finally, the lyrics were creatively curated by Syrakos Kesen and accompanied by music composed by Benjamin Seror, while the 3d animated rapper character performed them.

Peeingwhilestanding E.T, proposes a discourse emerging through the logic of emotions and the poetry of exclusion. The exhibition evades the dominant rationalized structures of “high cultural discourses'' considering gender, labor, nature, technology etc. and refuses to be recognized as an anti-hegemonic gesture, as it wishes to tear down the structures that create and sustain those dichotomies. The participants' collaboration, dynamically hidden in leaving ephemeral traces, creates forms through informal tactics and inappropriate procedures in the “periphery of the art system”.

P.E.T TREAT will be treated collectively by the participants plus Manos Venieris. The video clip for the rap song, followed by the fanzines created together with Orestis Pangalos, will be presented at P.E.T Projects on on the closing day of the exhibition wrapping up the lyrics with video material from the show. An after party will also take place where all the people involved at Peeingwhilestanding E.T and beyond it, will be DJing or/and VJing.

She Are We, 2019

[Panayotis Lianos, Vasilios Barbinis, Pegy Zali]

If we start with power,

we will end up seeing everything in terms of power.

So let's start with love,

because we are self conscious that we are incomplete and inappropriate. Love as a political standpoint to bring joy into the play.

He said,

that are these two types of people the he and the she. Now he says that there are more categories, he likes tagging.

Separate and dominate is his motto.

We don’t like that,

binary or any distinctions, it limits our ability to feel the complexity of life and the society as a whole. Gender separation it is a very simple and superficial way to experience society.

We will pay attention to what she says,

because only someone from the below have met the complexity of the social whole. All those that are inhabiting the below have some kind of double consciousness, they have knowledge of both subortant and the dominant of the above. It is inscripted in her body, you could read the history of sovereignty on it.

She knows he,

because the power is exercised only over free subjects. She had developed that knowledge through the struggles that she gave to be free, to be heard, to be visible and be undeletable.

She had spent time with him and she tried to convert him into the we.

But it is difficult for him to deny the privileges that it had been given to him, even before he was born. He wasn’t ready to deny it, so he embraced it. He cares for his self-reproduction, his self-improvement and his self-progress, if he feels that you are an obstacle to that, then he will erase you.

When the informal language is being kicked out and the logistics comes in. Now, the data had to be collected and the access had to be denied.

But we are quite a lot,

We are the ones who hold everybody back, the cultural production line that’s supposed to improve us all. We like being the problems. As long as we hold each other, never mind.

She are we.
